It started in a cartoon from 1967, one episode nobody was supposed to remember. Two guys in the same mask, both accused, both pointing at the other, going in circles. That single frame outlived the entire show around it.
Fans turned it into a meme years later, then it turned into a joke about itself. Three fingers pointing in a triangle, no explanation needed, used for anything and everything, same guy, every time.
Then the multiverse actually happened. Three different versions of the same hero, from three different eras, standing in one frame and pointing at each other for real. The joke came true.
